Net::DNS is a port of the Perl Net::DNS module, written by Michael Fuhr and now currently maintained by Olaf Kolkman (www.net-dns.org). It keeps the same interfaces and function names, although has a bit improved OO and some other stuff, like cleaner syntax and smoother behaviour. It's also a lot simpler to extend.

Net::DNS is a pure Ruby library which implements a DNS resolver, a server and many other utilities. The resolver allows the programmer to perform nearly any type of DNS query from a Ruby script. For details and examples, please read the Net::DNS manual pages. To read about the latest features, see the Changes file. To find out about known bugs and to see what's planned for future versions, see the TODO file.

Voluntaries wanted!

I am currently searching for someone which would mind to take care of this website, because I'm not a web master and I think's that's visible! Better if this someone will be involved in the project, so he could not have troubles generating the contents, but that's not so necessarly. I'm also searching for someone who wants to write some documentation in RDoc format: the code is much and there's a lot of work to do. Besides those, less important but still needed are: someone to create (in the future) packages in rpm, deb and windows format, and an expert in Ruby sockets to create a very robust and responsible server. If you want to cooperate, please write me a note at this address.

New home page for the project

Shamelessly stolen from the one powered initially by Rails, and now found on many other wonderful projects (Rake, Rubygems and even RailFrog) we have now our home page in the same style but with an uglier set of colors (well, I'm not that good as a designer, take it as it comes). Hope this will help to give more visibility to the project.
